Taxonomic Comments
Krings in FNA (2023, vol. 14) and Weakley et al. (2025) treat Gonolobus suberosus as a member of the genus Gonolobus. Kartesz (1994, 1999) treated it as Matelea gonocarpos. Synonymy in Weakley (2025) suggests the name Matelea gonocarpos (or M. gonocarpa) has been applied to differing concepts.
