From Dourson (2013): An upland species (up to 1800 m on Roan Mountain in North Carolina) found on wooded hillsides and mountains; during the day it can be found hiding under the exfoliating bark of large rotting logs in advanced stages of decay; also found in crevices and cavities of beech trees.
