Taxonomic Comments
Distinct species. Non-flowering plants indistinquishable from Erythonium species. Flowering plants easily confused with the sympatric E. americanum.

Beaked trout-lily occurs in south central US and in Ohio. Populations of this species seem fairly frequent and stable.
Range Extent Comments
Arkansas, northern Lousiana, central Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas; disjunct in southern Ohio.
Occurrences Comments
EOs occur in 29 of ARs 75 counties (about 1/2 of the state). Reported from 12 parishes (ca. 25 occurrences) in LA, also reported from 13 counties in MO, from OK, TN, MS (ca. 20 populations), TX, OH, KS.
Threat Impact Comments
Major threats are the opening of the canopy by developement and horticultural collection.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Mesic woods, slopes and stream banks; often associated with beech. Also sandy loam soils on small stream terraces that occasionally flood.
