Taxonomic Comments
Fawcett and Smith (2021) treat Thelypteris interrupta, as recognized in FNA (1993, vol. 2), as Cyclosorus interruptus. Some sources, e.g., Weakley and the Southeastern Flora Team (2025) and POWO (2025), treat New World plants as a separate species, Cyclosorus gongylodes, from the Old World C. interruptus. More definitive taxonomic analyses are needed to determine if New World plants are distinct from Old World plants. The generic placement of this taxon, in Cyclosorus, is in accordance with the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group I (2016).
