Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the broad treatment of Luzula parviflora following Kartesz (1994), FNA (vol. 22, 2000), Kirschner (2002), and VASCAN (2025). Within this broad concept of L. parviflora, subspecies are recognized by Kartesz (1994), Kirschner (2002), and VASCAN (2025). In contrast, Kartesz (1999) considered L. parviflora ssp. melanocarpa indistinct from typical L. parviflora and treated L. parviflora ssp. fastigiata as a distinct species. Also differing, FNA (vol. 22, 2000) did not mention L. fastigiata or subspecies of L. parviflora.
