Galium palustre is apparently common throughout northeastern North America. It occurs from Newfoundland, Canada south to West Virginia and west to Illinois, USA. It is also reported from the Yukon, Canada and Washington and Montana, USA. It also occurs disjunctly in northeastern Tennessee, USA.
Range Extent Comments
Galium palustre occurs throughout northeastern North America. In addition to northeastern North America, it occurs in the Yukon, Canada and in the United States in Washington and Montana (Kartesz 1999). This species also has been reported by Carl Nordman (pers. comm.) who cites Dr. Eugene Wofford indicating it is also occurs in northeast Tennesse, USA. G. palustre in Tennessee occurs in Shady Valley and Shackleford Branch, Johnson Co. These areas in northeast Tennessee have many plants which are disjunct from the north (Carl Nordman pers. comm. 2001).
