Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow treatment of Parthenium integrifolium, excluding P. auriculatum (=P. integrifoium var. auriculatum) and P. hispidum (=P. integrifolium var. hispidum) as distinct species, as recognized in Weakley et al. (2025) and Kartesz (1999). Strother in FNA (2006, vol. 21) and Kartesz (1994) recognize P. integrifolium more broadly, including those taxa. Kartesz (1994) recognizes them as varieties while Strother says, "For the present, I see no justification for segregating species from, or for formal recognition of infraspecific taxa within P. integrifolium."
