Taxonomic Comments
This record represents the narrow concept of Heuchera villosa following Weakley (2024) which does not include H. villosa var. arkansana and H. villosa var. macrorhiza. Weakley (2024) recognizes H. villosa, H. arkansana, and H. macrorhiza as distinct species. In contrast, FNA (vol. 8, 2009) and Kartesz (1994, 1999) treat H. villosa in a broad sense with two varieties distinguished: H. villosa var. villosa (with H. villosa var. macrorhiza included in synonymy) and H. villosa var. arkansana.
