Taxonomic Comments
This is the record for the concept of Sphagnum recurvum following FNA (vol. 27, 2007) and Brinda and Atwood (2026). S. recurvum is also accepted by Buck and Goffinet (2024). Note however, that there are differences in how Buck and Goffinet (2024) treat related species in this complex. Buck and Goffinet (2024) follow Duffy et al. (2020) in lumping S. brevifolium and S. isoviitae into S. fallax, and lumping S. rubroflexuosum into S. flexuosum.
