Habitat

Webs are nearly always on vertical or overhanging surfaces of rock outcrops and boulders which are typically beside or near a stream in deciduous or mixed deciduous-conifer forest and seldom found on relatively exposed and dry rock outcrops (Huf and Coyle 1992).
