Habitat
Habitat includes rocky riffles of creeks and small to medium rivers (Page and Burr 2011), usually among debris and associated obstacles or gravel and rubble where available; headwater streams stocked with trout and lowland streams where warm-water fishes thrive (Kuehne and Barbour 1983).
Reproduction
Spawns apparently from late March through April (Kuehne and Barbour 1983).
