Taxonomic Comments
Lupinus paynei was found to be distinct by Huang and Friar (2011). In contrast, L. paynei is included in L. excubitus var. hallii by Kartesz (1994, 1999), FNA (vol. 11, 2023), and Jepson Flora Project (2026).
