Taxonomic Comments
Majure et al. (2017) here have revised the Opuntia humifusa complex and are recognizing O. cespitosa as distinct from Kartesz's (1994) concept of O. humifusa var. humifusa. O. cespitosa is treated here as a derivative of the O. macrorhiza species complex and the O. humifusa species complex.
