Taxonomic Comments
Al-Shehbaz (in FNA vol. 7, 2010 and Al-Shehbaz 2013) considers all of the varieties of Streptanthus tortuosus described by Rollins in 1993 (and accepted by Kartesz 1994 and 1999) to be part of a single highly polymorphic species. However, Al-Shehbaz 2013 describes one distinct subspecies (Streptanthus tortuosus ssp. truei) based on sepal and cauline leaf shape and length.
