Taxonomic Comments
Kartesz (1994) here recognizes three varieties: elata, utahensis, and verdiensis. FNA (vol. 26, 2002) elevates Yucca elata var. utahensis (= Y. utahensis) to full species and does not recognize Y. eleta var. elata and Y. eleta var. verdiensis as distinct.
