Taxonomic Comments
Windham and Al-Shehbaz (2007b) find Arabis pulchra var. gracilis sensu Rollins (1993) - followed in Kartesz (1994 and 1999) - to deserve distinction as the separate species Boechera xylopoda Windham and Al-Shehbaz. This treatment is followed in FNA (2010, vol. 7).

Abundance unknown but collections exist from much of southeastern California and southern Nevada (7 Nevada counties) (Kartesz 2002). Also known from northwestern Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. Found mostly in deserts but on a variety of substrates (limestone, shale, volcanic rubble) (Rollins 1993).
