Ecology & Habitat

Diagnostic Characteristics

Cordylanthus maritimus can be distinguished by a corolla shorter than the calyx, purple on lower lobes and thin margin of galea; bracts usually with a pair of short distal lobes. It is found in coastal areas. (Munz, 1959)

Habitat

Grows in coastal salt marshes (Smith and Berg, 1988).
