Taxonomic Comments
Some treatments recognize Garrya congdonii and Garrya flavescens as distinct taxa (Kartesz 1999, Daniel 2012), but Flora of North America consider them to be conspecific (FNA 2016).

Habitat

Ponderosa pine, mountain brush, and pinyon-juniper communities at 1300 to 2500 m. Dry rocky hills, mountain slope and canyons at 2000-7400 feet.
