Taxonomic Comments
Porter and Patterson (2015) distinguish some collections from California, Nevada, and Baja California, Mexico that were previously identified as Linanthus bigelovii as L. dichotomus ssp. pattersonii. This record is for the narrow concept of L. bigelovii, excluding those collections. Porter and Patterson (2015) also separate eastern and western populations of L. bigelovii into two distinct subspecies, L. bigelovii ssp. johnsonii in the western part of the range and the typical subspecies in the eastern portion.
