Taxonomic Comments
Kartesz (1994) includes Monardella purpurea in M. odoratissima ssp. glauca; in his 1999 Floristic Synthesis, he considers M. purpurea distinct, and includes M. neglecta in it.

Habitat

This species is found in chaparral, woodlands, montane forests, and rocky slopes, generally on serpentine (Wildflower Center, 2021).
