Diagnostic Characteristics

Plants not twining. Flowers in pairs terminating axillary peduncles. Bracts subulate. Corolla scarcely bilabiate the upper lip 4-lobed nearly or quite to it's base. Style glabrous. Ovaries wholly united, berries blue.

Habitat

Swamps bogs and wet woods.
