Taxonomic Comments

Stotler and Crandall-Stotler (1977) included Cephaloziella aspericaulis in C. divaricata var. scabra, while Stotler and Crandall-Stotler (2017) here treat them as distinct. Cephaloziella aspericaulis is known only from Greenland, Scandinavia, and Russia (Stotler and Crandall-Stotler 2017).
