Broadly distributed in the northern Santa Lucia Mountians, Monterey County, California, from the Monterey Peninsula to near the Monterey-San Luis Obispo county line (Jockusch et al. 2001).
Occurrences Comments
Number of occurrences has not been determined but probably falls within the indicated range. Jockusch et al. (2001) mapped 16 locations from which genetic samples were obtained.
Threat Impact Comments
Can be abundant in open, disturbed habitats, such as city parks (Jockusch et al. 2001).

Habitat

Primary habitat is mesic redwood and mixed evergreen forests; inland, also inhabits wooded north-facing slopes with tan oak and maples; when surface moisture is present, can be found under cover in open, disturbed habitats (Jockusch et al. 2001).
