Taxonomic Comments

Echinocereus chloranthus (including var. cylindricus = and var. neocapillus) is included in E. viridiflorus var. cylindricus in Kartesz (1999). E. chloranthus var. russanthus is recognized as a distinct species (E. russanthus).
