Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the broad treatment of Boechera puberula including Arabis beckwithii which was treated as distinct by Kartesz (1994 and 1999). Windham and Al-Shehbaz (2006), which is followed by FNA (2010, vol. 7), found the type specimens of Arabis beckwithii S. Wats. to be conspecific with Boechera puberula (= Arabis puberula) based on morphology and geographic distribution. The authors find that the seven specimens interpreted by Rollins as A. beckwithii and used as justification for its acceptance as a species more closely resemble B. inyoensis.
