Taxonomic Comments
Strother's treatment in FNA (2006, vol. 21) recognizes Bahia absinthifolia. Baldwin and Wood (2016), attempting to "achieve a taxonomy that reflects evidently monophyletic groups" revise generic boundaries in the Bahia alliance and find the practical solution with this group is "to retain the distinctive Apostates as a genus and to recognize its primarily North American sister group as a separate genus, Picradeniopsis" and therefore recognize this as Picradeniopsis absinthifolia.
