Impatiens noli-tangere is a circumpolar species that is found in Alaska south through British Columbia to California and west through Canada to Manitoba. The species is rare in Washington, Manitoba, Yukon Territory, and Saskatchewan but common in British Columbia, Alberta, and Alaska. There is similar variability in abundance globally.

Impatiens noli-tangere is a temperate circumpolar species that occurs in Central and Western Canada, and the northwestern U.S.A. but also occurs throughout temperate Eurasia.

Habitat

This species grows in a variety of habitats with damp to waterlogged soils, including lake edges (Hatcher 2003).
