Taxonomic Comments
Boechera sparsiflora as treated by FNA (2010, vol. 7), following Windham and Al-Shehbaz (2006), excludes varieties accepted in Rollins (1993) and Kartesz (1994 and 1999): Arabis sparsiflora var. arcuata (treated by FNA as two species, B. arcuata and B. rubicundula), A. sparsiflora var. atrorubens (treated as B. atrorubens), A. sparsiflora var. californica (treated as B. californica), A. sparsiflora var. columbiana (included in B. pauciflora), and part of A. sparsiflora var. subvillosa (included in synonymy of B. pauciflora, however, A. campyloloba and A. polytricha, which were treated by Rollins (1993) and Kartesz (1994, 1999) as synonyms of A. sparsiflora var. subvillosa, are treated by FNA (2010) as synonyms of B. sparsiflora).
