Silene douglasii occurs in western North American with three varieties, two of which are much more range restricted, as compared to the typical variety. The typical variety, Silene douglasii var. douglasii has no widespread threats or declines reported and there are well over 300 occurrences over a very large range. Range Extent Comments
This species occurs from southern British Columbia south to eastern California, northern Nevada, northern Utah, Idaho, and western Wyoming (Hitchcock and Cronquist 1964).
