Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 22, 2000) elevates Luzula hitchcockii as a distinct species and mentions L. glabrata s.s. is European. In contrast, Kartesz (1994) recognized L. glabrata in a broad sense with two varieties distinguished: L. glabrata var. glabrata and L. glabrata var. hitchcockii.
