Taxonomic Comments
Kartesz (1994) treats Amsinckia menziesii and A. intermedia as distinct (this record is for A. menziesii in that strict sense). Kartesz (1999) accepts A. intermedia as a variety of A. menziesii, however, as of 2012 there seems to be some question of whether that name is validly published (e.g., see Tropicos 2012 and Baldwin et al. 2012). However, the treatment accepted by Baldwin et al. (2012) does indicate that A. intermedia may be better treated as part of A. menziesii.
