Taxonomic CommentsThe previously recognized varieties of E. dentata, var. lancifolia Farw. and var. gracillima Millsp., have been elevated to the species E. davidii by Kartesz (1999). This taxon was described in 1984 in Sublis, R. 1984. Una nueva especie de Euphorbia sect. Poinsettia (Euphorbiaceae). Kutziana 17:125:130 in Argentina. Dr. Mark Mayfield, Euphorbia expert from Kansas State University, notes that this species while reported as exotic in Kartesz 1999, is however, native.
