FNA (2023, vol. 11) recognizes Lotus as native to Eurasia, with taxa native to North American treated as Acmispon or Hosackia. FNA (2023, vol. 11) treats Lotus scoparius in the genus Acmispon as A. glaber. FNA (2023, vol. 11) notes, "Lotus glaber (Vogel) Greene 1890 (not Miller 1768) is an illegitimate name that pertains here."
