Taxonomic Comments
The material treated as Astragalus tephrodes in the 1987 edition of "A Utah Flora" was misidentified. It belongs to A. zionis var. vigulus, according to the 1993 edition of the flora (Welsh, 1993).

Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

This taxon grows in oak brush, among junipers, Larrea, in arid grasslands, yucca-grasslands, arid scrublands, desert areas, oak-chaparral, pinyon-juniper, edges of ponderosa pine forests, on granitic, volcanic bedrock, or sedimentary bedrock (including limestone) (Castillon et al. 2023, FNA 2023).
