Taxonomic Comments
Windham and Al-Shehbaz (2007b), followed in FNA (2010, vol. 7), describe what was considered Arabis breweri var. pecuniaria as the distinct species Boechera peirsonii, thus treating Boechera breweri as a more narrow species than Arabis breweri as treated by Rollins (1993) and Kartesz (1994, 1999). Windham and Al-Shehbaz (2006), followed by FNA (2010), distinguished Boechera breweri ssp. shastaensis from the typical ssp. breweri, with the two subspecies being similar in concept to Arabis breweri var. austiniae and var. breweri (respectively) as treated by Rollins (1993).
