Rank Reasons
Brickellia nevinii is restricted to desert scrub habitat and has been described as uncommon, however, there are numerous collections from ten California counties (though some counties are represented by single or few, older collections).
Range Extent Comments
Occurs in California in the Inner South Coast Ranges, Western Transverse Ranges, San Gabriel Mountains, and Mojave Desert bioregions (Hickman 1993). Hickman (1993) also reports Nevada in its distribution. Most collections in the Consortium of California Herbaria (March 2007) are from Los Angeles (91 records) and Ventura (26) counties, but there are also records for eight other counties.
Occurrences Comments
Number of distinct occurrences is unknown, but there are 155 accession records in the Consortium of California Herbaria database as of March 2007; 66 of these were collected since 1970. However, Hickman (1993) says it is uncommon.
