Taxonomic Comments
Four subspecies recognized by Kartesz (1999 checklist), of which three (albicaulis, gracilis, and sonomensis) were recognized by Lewis and Lewis (1955), and a fourth (tracyi) had been included in ssp. albicaulis by Lewis and Lewis.
