Taxonomic Comments
As treated by Kartesz (1999), Clarkia speciosa includes three subspecies (immaculata, polyantha, and speciosa) also recognized by Lewis and Lewis (1955), as well as ssp. nitens, treated by Lewis and Lewis at the species level. LEM 11-9-99.
