Taxonomic Comments
The name Conoclinium dissectum was published by A. Gray in 1852. The species was moved to the genus Eupatorium but since Eupatorium dissectum was previously published by Benth, Gray gave it the name Eupatorium greggii in 1884. When Small moved it back to Conoclinium in 1903, he called it Conoclinium greggii, however Conoclinium dissectum A. Gray would be the older and therefore legitimate name in that genus.
