Dendrophylax megarhizus, found in Mexico (Campeche, Jalisco, Veracruz, and Yucatán states) was split from Dendrophylax porrectus based on molecular data and morphometric analyses (Molgo et al. 2016). This record is for D. porrectus in the narrow sense.
