Taxonomic Comments
Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2006) treats Erigeron canaani as distinct from E. eatonii. In contrast, Kartesz (1994, 1999) included E. canaani in E. eatonii var. eatonii. There are six varieties distinguished in E. eatonii by Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2006): var. eatonii, var. lavandulus, var. nevadincola, var. plantagineus, var. sonnei, and var. villosus.
