Taxonomic Comments
This concept of Erigeron grandiflorus follows Nesom in FNA (2006, vol. 20) and includes E. simplex, but does not include ssp. arcticus, (which is raised to full species as E. porsildii by Nesom and Murray (2004)). In contrast, Kartesz (1994, 1999) recognized E. grandiflorus as having two subspecies (ssp. arcticus and ssp. grandiflorus) and E. simplex as a distinct species.
