Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow treatment of Erigeron pumilus, as recognized in FNA (2006, vol. 20) and Kartesz (1994, 1999), excluding E. concinnus (with varieties var. concinnus, var. condensatus, and var. subglaber) as a distinct species. These treatments also exclude E. zothecinus from E. pumilis, Kartesz and Welsh et al. (2015) recognizing it as a distinct species and FNA including it in E. concinnus ssp. subglaber. Kartesz (1994, 1999) recognizes E. pumilus with two subspecies, ssp. pumilus and ssp. intermedius, with var. gracilior as a distinct variety of ssp. intermedius. FNA (2006) recognizes the infraspecific taxa at the rank of variety and includes var. gracilior in the synonymy of E. pumilus var. intermedius.
