Taxonomic Comments
Under Kartesz's (1999) treatment, this taxon excludes material that he formerly (1994) included in Aster sibiricus as Aster sibiricus var. meritus, and A. sibericus var. giganteus. (It apparently includes some, but not all, of the material he treated as A. sibericus var. pygmaeus in 1994.) Thus, Eurybia sibirica is narrower in concept than Aster sibiricus in the Kartesz 1994 sense.
