Mexico to Brazil, the Guianas (Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana), the West Indies, including Jamaica (Portland parish), Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Vincent, and Trinidad. In Panama, found in the provinces of Panamá and Colón, and the former Canal Area, including Barro Colorado Island.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

In Jamaica, in swamp in forest near sea level; in Panama, known from tropical moist forest in the former Canal Area and Panamá province and perhaps more abundantly from tropical wet forest in Colón, and on Barro Colorado Island possibly restricted to marshes or wet areas at the edge of the lake.
