Taxonomic Comments
Turner (2015) and Weakley (2023) recognize Hymenopappus artemisiifolius var. riograndensis and H. carrii as distinct taxa, thus narrowing the concept of H. artemisiifolius. Turner (2015) states H. carrii material was previously included in his concept of H. artemisiifolius var. riograndensis. "It is closely related to H. artemisiifolius, but amply distinct in both vegetative and floral features" (Turner 2015).
