Taxonomic Comments
Kartesz (1999) includes Baeria chrysostoma ssp. gracilis in L. californica. FNA (vol. 21, 2006) accepts it as distinct and says it can be distinguished from L. californica ssp. californica by its opaque, white, ovate-lanceolate, aristate pappus scales.
