Number of Occurrences21 to >300
Rank Reasons
This species has a relatively large range, there is no evidence of decline, and it has been characterized as common in a significant part of its range, but there are relatively few definite and recent records.
Range Extent Comments
It is difficult to estimate this species' range extent, as it occurs off of the coast of the eastern US from Massachusetts to Texas and may occur into the well south of there (Discoverlife.org, Felder et al. 2009, Joyce 1975).
Occurrences Comments
This is based on approximately 20 known records and its distribution along the coast of the eastern US from Massachusetts to Texas and possibly questionable records from other areas (Discoverlife.org, Felder et al. 2009, Joyce 1975).
