Taxonomic Comments
Comprised of five subspecies (Kartesz 1999; Hickman 1993), including L. wigginsii and L. pitkinense, which were treated respectively as a species and a synonym in Kartesz (1994).

Lilium pardalinum (which is comprised of five subspecies) is in California (below 2000 meters) and southwestern Oregon, occurring in moist places, streambanks, and along the coast (where the habitat may be drier). The species can be locally common to rare.
