Taxonomic Comments
This record represents the concept of Mentha canadensis following Tucker and Naczi (2007) which is native to North America (while M. arvensis is European and occurs as an exotic in North America). Following this treatment, all native North American material is M. canadensis. In contrast, Kartesz (1994) recognized M. arvensis as having both native and exotic populations in North America.
